The total number of orders placed online in October 2009 was 1,746, a 16.25% increase over last year, and a record breaker for the highest number of orders ever recorded in a single month on Wholesalecrafts.com. The total dollar amount came in at $392,215, an 18.8% increase over last year.

"Our total online sales amount came in just shy of breaking our all-time record high recorded last September," said Nancy Vince, President, Wholesalecrafts.com, "but the actual number of orders placed was the highest we’ve seen since we started tracking this information 9 years ago. These kinds of numbers confirm that retailers are indeed buying, but perhaps being cautious by placing smaller orders than they did before." Wholesalecrafts.com estimates that only 30% of transactions are placed through their shopping cart, and the rest bypass their system by retailers placing orders by phone, fax or email directly with artists.

Wholesalecrafts.com reports "up-to-the-second statistics" on their site, which can be accessed by its members. The site reports total sales, number of orders and number of inquiries. Retailers may place orders through the shopping cart or directly through the artists. Wholesalecrafts.com does not charge a commission on sales.

Enrollment in Wholesalecrafts.com is free for retailers.
