Wholesalecrafts.com, the premier web service for sourcing American and Canadian made crafts, announces 2009 year end sales results.

Total online shopping cart sales for 2009 were $3,042,160 - a 2.5% decrease under 2008 year end results. 13,825 total orders were placed online - less than a 1% decrease from 2008. The web service also reports 1,055 new retailers enrolled in 2009, for a total of 18,170 enrolled retailers and 1,309 current artist members to date.

"Given that 2009 was another recession year, these slight decreases did not come as a shock," said Nancy Vince, President, Wholesalecrafts.com, Inc. "With many industry businesses cutting their trade show and travel budgets, Wholesalecrafts.com's web service serves as an invaluable resource to continue bringing artists and buyers together, especially in these slower economic times."

Despite a slight overall decrease in total 2009 online sales; April, June, August, October, and November 2009 were all record breaking months, with the highest dollar amounts ever recorded for those months on Wholesalecrafts.com. October 2009 was also a record breaker for the highest number of orders ever recorded in a single month on Wholesalecrafts.com, coming in at 1,746.

Wholesalecrafts.com reports "up-to-the-second statistics" on their site, which can be accessed by its members. The site reports total sales, number of orders and number of inquiries. Retailers may place orders through the shopping cart or directly through the artists. Wholesalecrafts.com does not charge a commission on sales.
